Paul is dead!

There follows some clues from the Beatles albums that many people think were deliberatly placed to verify the Paul is Dead story (That is, the real Paul McCartney was killed in an auto accident in late 1966 and an imposter was used to take his place.) All of these were collected off of the Beatles Web Page. The clues are listed in the order of the albums.

Yesterday... And Today:

-On the cover -Paul is sitting in a trunk sideways as if it were a coffin.

-The cover was a replacement for the infamous 'Butcher' cover, illustrating graphically quite appaling injuries (from Paul's crash) recieved on Paul,

Revolver:

-On the cover - Paul's head is turned to the side, as if he doesn't seem to fit in any more,

-In the songs, there are numerous referances to death "i.e. She Said She Said", "Love you to" etc.

- Another example is present in `Eleanor Rigby'-From the lyrics : "Father McKenzie (McCartney?)/" Writing the words of a Sermon that no one will hear/was buried/ Father McKenzie/ wiping the dirt from his hands as he walks from the grave/ noone was saved/"

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band:

-On the cover: A hand is held over Paul's head (an Indian symbol for death)

-Paul is holding a black musical instrument -Paul's bass is laid on a coffin with flowers (the flowers themselves, when veiwed from a distance, seem to spell "P A U L ?")

-The wax dummies of George, John, and Ringo are looking at the coffin. However - Paul is not...

-A toy doll is looking at a toy car plummiting in flames

-If a mirror is held up to the words on Ringo's drum, they seem to spell "1 ONE 1 X= HE / DIE".In other words, one of the Beatles is crossed out and the arrow between 'he' and `die' is pointing at Paul On the inside of the cover,

-Paul has a black armband that has the letters OPD (Canadian for `officially pronounced dead') stitched on it. On the back cover -Paul's back is turned to the camera as if it wasn't him,

-The lyrics "Without you" (Within you and Without you) are blooming out of Paul's head -George is pointing at the lyrics "Wednesday morning at five o'clock" (The time that the real Paul died) -All the Beatles are signing letters in the word LOVE - except for Paul. He is the hole where the `O' should be. `Day in the Life' -

-From the lyrics: "He blew his mind out in a car" `Sgt. Pepper's Inner Groove' - When played backwards, the nonsensacle vibrations from the song sound like `Will Paul come back as Superman?'

The White Album:

-`Revolution 9' - The words `Number nine, number nine' in the middle of the song sound like `Turn me on, dead man' when played backwards

-`Glass Onion,' From the lyrics - "And here's another clue for you all - the Walrus was Paul". (In some religions, the Walrus is a symbol for death)

-`While My Guitar Gently Weeps' -At the end of the song, George sounds like he's yelling, "Paul! Paul!"

-`Don't Pass Me By' - From the lyrics - "You were in a car crash"

-Between `I'm So Tired' and `Black Bird' John mumbles something inaudible. When reversed, the mumbles become, "Paul is dead, man. Miss him, miss him, miss him..."

-The poster contains a number of referances to Paul's death, including a picture of him with a scar on his lip, and a picture of him lying in a bathtub (supposedly showing what the car crash looked like).

Magical Mystery Tour:

-When the stars on the cover of the album are turned upside down, they spell out a phone number you could call to get information about Paul's death (apparently one Midwestern Beatles fan tried this in 1969 and was answered by a gruff voice that said, "You're getting closer...")

In the photo booklet

- In a photo at the back, a hand is, once again, held over Paul's head

-Ringo's bass drum has a small number 3 in it. The song `I am the Walrus' is subtitled `No you're not, said little Nicola' (The song `I am the Walrus' itself fades into death scenes from King Lear) `Strawberry Fields Forever'

- Near the end of the song (SFF), John says very clearly, "I buried Paul" although many claim that he says "Cranberry sauce". I think otherwise...

Abbey Road:

-On the cover: The license plate on the Volkswagon reads "28 IF" the precise age that Paul would have been if he had lived, that is 28,

- all the Beatles are dressed for a funeral procession. John, in white, is the preacher; Ringo, in black, is the undertaker; George, in denim, is the gravedigger; Paul, barefoot and smoking, is, of course, the corpse.

-On the back cover: a skull drawing can be discerned after the words Abbey Road `Come Together'

- From the lyrics: "One and one and one is three. What about Paul?"
